Walk along the sidewalk at the water’s edge to see the bayside homes and cottages, ride the car ferry across to the Fun Zone (with a Ferris Wheel, bumper cars, carousel, trampoline bungee and arcades) or shop in charming, one-of-a-kind boutiques in the village. Your reward for all that good exercise could be a chocolate dipped frozen banana rolled in your favorite topping.

Newport Bay Ecological Reserve -
Upper Newport Bay is an estuary where fresh and saltwater meet and mix. One of only a few remaining estuaries in Southern California, the Newport Bay Ecological Reserve is home of 200 species of birds, mammals, fish and native plants, including several endangered species. Newport Bay is an important stopover for migrating birds on the Pacific Flyway and up to 30,000 birds can be seen here during the winter. Nestled into the side of one of the bluffs on the north side of the Bay, the Peter & Mary Muth Interpretive Center is a 10,000 square foot educational facility with panoramic views of the Bay. Take a journey through exhibits and interactive displays that make the Bay come alive. Learn about life in the Upper Newport Bay and this important estuary. Guided walking and water tours give you a new understanding of the Bay.
